I was wondering, how do I install chathud? I've looked around but find nothing
Avatar
A System of Vibrant Colors 2019-03-26 07:59
there is a settings .txt file somewhere easily findable Add a line with "channel:(yourchannel)" ^ be careful to syntax, just do like other lines, because I forgot how it looked Twitch icon will appear in emotracker and you can right click to activate it (edited)

It's not something you install, so much as just setting a config option as detailed in #faq

I know I've asked this before, and I can't seem to find the pinned info on it, if it was pinned. But what was the way to get chat animations to work? I think it was !hud rain name_of_image. But where does the image need to be? And are only a certain type of image allowed?

@Blazor If you load up Ninban's pack, hit the ⚙
00:55
... Advanced -> Export Overrides -> items.json -> Export Overrides, then ⚙ -> Advanced -> Open Override Folder, open items.json and the stuff in the codes section of each item is what you'd be looking for. Then, using the syntax format shown in examples in the above diagram should do the thing.

@VenCorbin Your question is literally answered by me above.

You just need to find whatever the file is within the pack that contains the item definitions.

MikeTrethewey | Axiom Verge 2019-06-22 10:04
No. I don’t believe such an image exists. You asked in #general how to find the codes. That’s explained above for Ninban’s Z3M3 pack. The process to find the codes for any pack is the same, just that the file name may differ. (edited)

AniMeiKao 2019-07-04 20:38

There have been intermittent reports of this in the past. I’ve never been able to reproduce it, and I’ve only ever been able to track it down to, potentially, some issue on the twitch side. You might want to try with my LTTP pack as a sanity check, but beyond that disconnecting and reconnecting may work eventually.

@ShootMeImGinger One thing I'd make sure of is that your twitch username in the application_settings.json file is all lowercase. Any capital letters & it will result in it not working, even when it appears to connect properly. (Twitch's backcode essentially works in all lowercase when in comes to usernames) My friend had this issue recently & once he made his username lower in that file. It started working properly (edited)

Is there a list anywhere for what the !bud command will understand?
Avatar
JRJathome 2019-08-09 13:50
There's a list of commands in #faq. The item codes are pack dependent and can be found in the item json(s) for the pack you're using.
Avatar
TetraFlash 2019-08-09 14:00
It's the "name" variable from the Json? (edited)
Avatar
JRJathome 2019-08-09 14:19
No, it's the "codes" variable.
14:20
You'll also see some items have multiple codes separated by commas. Each code will work for the same item. For example, !hud silverarrows has the same effect as !hud silvers in Emo's pack. (edited)
Avatar
EmoSaru 2019-08-09 14:21
I have put thought in the past into a command that will list available codes, but the output of such a thing - while useful - is not always intuitive, sadly.
Avatar
deserteagle417 2019-08-10 10:11
My solution was to include a text file in the pack download with all the item codes, but that's probably a lot easier for me since the Resident Evil rando is comparatively small to stuff like Zelda
Avatar
BenCreighton 2019-09-11 11:51
Out of curiosity, would I be able to change the "default permissions" line in user_permissions.json to something like "default_permissions": "Subscriber" in order to give subs permission to use Chathud by default?
Avatar
EmoSaru 2019-09-11 11:52
Yes
Avatar
BenCreighton 2019-09-11 13:22
Thanks. That seemed like the intuitive way to do it, but when you're futzing with code, sometimes things are less than intuitive.
Avatar
BenCreighton 2019-09-11 14:07
Does chathud support Keysanity? Not finding anything about how to add small / big keys in any of the pinned messages or #faq, and typing in intuitive-seeming commands (e.g. "!hud ep bk" or "!hud ep bigkey" or "!hud bigkey ep") doesn't seem to do anything.
Avatar
deserteagle417 2019-09-11 14:14
iirc, the keys don't have secondary tags, so I think it would be something like !hud epbigkey. If you look at the items.json (by making an override, for example) you can see the item codes
Avatar
JRJathome 2019-09-11 14:15
The key names in Emo's pack aren't as intuitive for chathud since they include underscores. So dp_bigkey, toh_smallkey etc.
Avatar
deserteagle417 2019-09-11 14:15
Ahh, that's right
Avatar
BenCreighton 2019-09-11 14:20
Okay, that works.
Avatar
JRJathome 2019-09-11 14:20
If anyone's ever curious about any of the item codes used for chathud, have a look in the item jsons for the pack. The "codes" field is what chathud uses to identify items. e.g.
{ "name": "Desert Palace Big Key", "type": "toggle", "img": "images/BigKey.png", "codes": "dp_bigkey" },

BenCreighton 2019-09-11 14:23

Oh, sorry. You’re right. I got my thoughts crossed. I don’t know if there’s a chathud equivalent.

ChatHud hasn't been worked on in a LONG time, and I don't believe it currently supports location clearing.

That's unfortunate. I'm mainly working on setting up Streamdeck functions, is there any network api support at all?

If not, that's fine, just means I'll have to click over to mark off areas still
